A punt is a square ended boat, which is driven along a shallow river with a pole, similar to the gondolas in Venice, but punts are found exclusively in Cambridge and Oxford. The best way to explore the city is by hiring a punt and (if you can get the hang of it!) gliding down the river Cam along the ‘backs’ exploring the sights and sounds of Cambridge.
