Officially known as ‘The Boleyn Ground’, the West Ham stadium was inaugurated in 1904. It is home to West Ham United Football Club (nicknamed ‘The Hammers’ or ‘The Irons’). The stadium has a capacity of 35,600 seats and the pitch measures 112 x 72 yards. The record attendance was 42,322 (West Ham United FC vs. Tottenham Hotspurs, 17 October 1970). The stadium has a built-in hotel and museum, and is located within a walking distance (about 500 metres) from the Upton Park tube station.
